Taper plugs have an included angle of 5-1/2 degrees or less. The condenser plug in the center is made of water-absorbent fiber that swells when wet increasing the tightness of the seal.
Taper plugs may be made in the maintenance shop and are commercially available from organizations that handle tube expanding equipment.
